The Foundation finances applied research and development projects in the field of natural resources, which have a productive or commercial potential relevant to the development of the country. These projects can be oriented to produce process innovations, development of new products or services, new technologies or other technological innovations. They are open to companies, universities, research centers and individuals. All those who have domicile within Chilean national territory may participate.
The Foundation provides financial, technical and commercial support to those selected, so that the contributions to society foreseen in the project can materialize. Projects whose results have an impact on society are accepted in the areas of: water, energy, agriculture, forestry, industrial and bioprocesses, mining, fisheries and aquaculture and biotechnology. This financing is non-reimbursable and does not constitute a subsidy. The Foundation participates between 25% and 35% of the possible economic benefits generated by the results of the project.
